Best AI Video Editors: Prompt-Based Tools
Update: I actually edited one of my son's YouTube videos with this and it was so quick and clean. I'm gonna start using this as kind of my daily driver for a bit to see how it does. My notes: This one's getting a lot of buzz. I'm interested to start diving into ChatCut. One thing that I like that's a little different than Wideframe is that there is a smaller monthly at $25 & $50 a month instead of Wideframe's $100 a month. Overview: ChatCut is a web-based AI video editor. You tell it what you want — edit this talking head, add motion graphics, write me a script, find background music — and it figures out how to do it. The agent isn't limited to what's built into the software. It understands your footage, can browse your website, grab your logos, read your marketing copy, and build a video that actually matches your brand. It can pull footage from YouTube, generate AI video and images, write voiceovers, and create motion graphics — all from a single prompt.
OpenArt Suite is your all-in-one AI creator studio. Create images, videos, characters, and audio in one place. Keep your characters, worlds, and style consistent across creations. Powered by the world’s top models like Google Veo, Kling, Nano Banana Pro, Seedance, and more.
Wideframe is an AI coworker for video editors. It automates the searching, labeling, organizing, and sequencing so you can focus on the creative work. Mac app, 7-day free trial.
This one's super interesting because it's open source, so I think I'm gonna play with it and try and integrate it in with one of my agents. Notes: World's first open-source, agentic video production system. 12 pipelines, 52 tools, 500+ agent skills. Turn your AI coding assistant into a full video production studio. - calesthio/OpenMontage
Also, just a good reference archive for grabbing free royalty-free clips when testing these chat-based editors. The open source project, OpenMontage, actually, when you install it, sets up the ability to search this via CLI when you're working on projects.
Higgsfield is really interesting, but it also has a ridiculous amount of products and features. I haven't really dug in yet, but I want to start trying it out with some real-life examples. Overview: Instantly create professional videos with our AI video generator. Simply type a prompt, and watch our AI bring your ideas to life in seconds. No editing skills required.
